Each Christmas, Gift-a-Vet works with the South Carolina Veterans Homes we serve to provide gifts residents will enjoy and use. We visited the homes and talked directly with their Activities Directors so we could understand what veterans appreciate—and what the homes can accept.
Purchase items from our wish list and bring them to a community collection location near you.
Choose approved gifts from our Amazon list and have them shipped directly to Gift-a-Vet
Financial contributions support Gift-a-Vet operations and help us serve veterans throughout the year.
Please donate new clothing. Clean, serviceable military-themed used clothing is the exception.
New or newly handmade items are welcome.
New and older electronics are welcome. Many veterans still enjoy CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes, so working older equipment and media can make excellent gifts.
Please include the correct power cord, charger or power adapter. Where applicable, include the audio or connecting cable needed to use the equipment.
Women are a growing part of the veteran population in the homes we serve. We welcome gifts selected especially for women veterans.
Clothing and personal-care products should be new and unopened.
The Veterans Homes appreciate your generosity, but there are a few items they cannot accept. Gift-a-Vet sorts donations before delivery so the homes receive appropriate gifts.
Gift-a-Vet currently supports four South Carolina Veterans Homes. We work directly with their Activities Directors to understand what residents enjoy and what the facilities can accept.
**Useful donated items that are not appropriate for the Veterans Homes may be provided to the Welcome Home Resource Center in Myrtle Beach so they can continue to help veterans in our community. **
